Hannah Tandy (she/her) is a PhD student studying Geochemistry in the Department of Earth, Planetary, and Space Sciences at UCLA in the Tripati Lab. Her research focuses on examining proxy measurements and models to reconstruct paleoclimates of the Cenozoic. Specifically, she is interested in investigating the inconsistencies between proxy and model temperatures for greenhouse earth environments such as the Paleocene and early Eocene. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Geosciences from Princeton University in 2018. Before coming to UCLA she was a teacher with San Diego Youth Science, and she greatly enjoys outreach and working with young future scientists. She is a Center for Diverse Leadership in Science Fellow, working with K-12 Outreach and Inclusive Sustainability, and is on the Board of the Society of Women Geoscientists as the Chief Development Officer. Outside of her research she enjoys board games and RPGs, traveling, and playing music.
